Fog clearing out of the Tuscan mountain side. The small and unchanged village of Panzano looks over the Chianti region of Tuscany. Known for growing the best grapes in the world and it’s rolling pine mountains. The town has been virtually unchanged for thousands of years.
The people are inviting and trusting. No need to search out a restaurant, as most the residents will offer up a place at their table; providing a warm traditional Italian meal, so long as you stoke the wood burning stove. My Italian is less than subpar, but the good folks of Panzano are masters of body language.
This is a town of farmers, butchers, gathers, and genuine neighbors. You won’t find anyone that is in a rush. Peace is plentiful and vino is infinite.
If only I had more time for this hidden Italian gem. Our next move leads us Northwest.
